Alanya Prepares to Become the Center of World Beach Volleyball in 2026

Alanya is moving forward to become one of the world’s leading beach volleyball destinations by hosting 24 national and international organizations in 2026. The event calendar, prepared in cooperation with Alanya Municipality, Alanya Tourism Promotion Foundation (ALTAV), and the Turkish Volleyball Federation (TVF), was introduced during a launch meeting.

The Alanya International Beach Sports Center will host international tournaments, national team events, and youth competitions throughout the year, contributing significantly to sports tourism. In a video message, International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) President Fabio Azevedo stated that Alanya is rapidly becoming a “world beach volleyball city” and highlighted the facility as a strong example of sustainable sports investment.

TVF Vice President Alper Sedat Aslandaş emphasized that Alanya is quickly becoming a global brand in beach volleyball and described the facility as one of the most important milestones in the history of Turkish beach volleyball.

Alanya Governor Şakir Öner Öztürk and Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik also noted that sports tourism plays a key role in transforming Alanya into a year-round tourism destination. Mayor Özçelik stated that the city aims to become an international brand not only with summer tourism but also through major sports organizations.

The 2026 calendar includes major events such as the Beach Pro Tour Challenge, CEV Nations Cup, Alanya Futures, and European Cup finals. In addition, public beach volleyball tournaments will be organized every month to create a year-round sports atmosphere in the city.

Alanya is also preparing to receive the FIVB “Center of Excellence” title while continuing its official candidacy process for the 2027 and 2028 World Championships.
